force 50hp 1987?

anyone know why a 1987 force 50 hp motor will lose all the gearcase lube when running? It's replacing it with water. but doesnt leak a drop on the driveway<br />Its on my bench right now filled with 20weight oil and it wont leak a drop. Of course i put gear lube when its going to be run.<br />Thanks dave

davedeneweth <br />With the motor running in the water, it will tend to build up a vacuum in the lower unit, causing it to suck in water. That's why you need to have it pressure tested and vacuum tested. It may very well do nothing when sitting idle. Probably a bad seal or drain/fill plug washer/seals leaking. Check those first and have it checked for leaks.
