Have a Force 50HP 2cyl That will not start (very Weak Spark). I have done some measurements:
Stator:
R & R/W = 98.1 Ohm
B & B/W = 400.5 Ohm
Coil:
Primary = 0.0-0.3 Ohm (depending on what meter I am using)
Secondary = 952 Ohm
All above is in the right range according to "the book". Only stator low-speed the "book" says 6800-7600 and I measure 400.5 Ohm but I think this must be OK anyway, as long it is not a higher value.

1) I have tried to pull-start it with no plugs in the engine and one plug connected so I can see the spark (no change)
2) Tried to change the spark plug wires (from the coils) (no change)
3) I have disconnected the black/yellow wire from ignition’s black-box (it is the kill switch wire) (no change)
4) I have measured the cranking voltage from stator high speed = 20-21VAC @ 70HZ
Stator low speed = 5-6VAC @ 70HZ
can anyone tell if above is OK.
5) When I am putting a peace of iron on the outside of the crack-wheel the magnetic feels very weak, can this be the problem?

Anyone got any ideas? Is it possible to test the black-box?
The engine no is 0E007767.

Hey,

If at any time you need a workshop, call Triton Marine in Hvidovre. They are quite busy this time of year but they know stuff. And they are most willing to sell spares. Although you cannot count on getting a full education over the counter, they also are helpful in spotting errors.
