Today I was again out in the Lake. Boat was running fine in gear, Forward.. Shut it off and on a few times while drift fishing.. For some reason it stopped going in forward it just revs up like it is stuck in neutral. I checked the lines and they seem to be moving on motor and inside the shifter. Now it runs fine in reverse and that is how I was able to get back to the dock.. Could it be a miss alignment somewhere... Can anyone Help me.. I can also provide pictures of the engine compartment and shifter if that would help.. I also have a dummy book on the motor, but really have not a clue what to look at first.. I am somewhat machanically inclined, but do not know nothing about boat motors..

Have you ever serviced the lower unit? Meaning have you replaced the lower unit oil on it? If so did you use the drain / fill plugs or did you accidently remove the shift pivot screw?

I noticed on ebay today that they have two shop manuals for the Force 50 motor. These are the actual Force brand shop manuals and they are much better then the Clymer or Seloc. Other than that I can't help you much on the tranny without seeing it.
