Hello everybody.

This is my first post here.
I recently bought a MAXUM boat equipped with a Force 70 outboard motor.
During a routine check by the coast guard, we could not find the serial number anywhere to cross reference it with its registration paper.
Now the coast guard is expecting me to visit them with some kind of proof of the serial number or else I may be facing confiscation!
Can please someone guide me to the location of the serial number location also post a photo to see what this data plate looks like?

Thank you in advance.

The gobment at it's best!!

Is the motor original to the boat?
If so, you can contact the Maxum manufacturer(Bayliner, U.S.Marine,)
Tell them the hull ID# and they can tell you what motor came with it.

The 70 Force was only made between 91-95
The factory used a plastic(crap) sticker usually on the stbd. transom clamp.
The sticker usually drops off after it gets wet.

The factory included foundry marks on the intake side of the block, it's under the intake manifold.
It only tells you the year.
Mercury used a silver freeze plug type with the ID #s stamped in it.
Look for that(probably not there).
