Force 70 Tilt Trim Motor & Reservoir Pressure Release
Re: Force 70 Tilt a/Trim ~ After replacing both relays, hot wiring the motor directly to the battery to test it, taking the motor apart to check wires and brushes and clean it up (it took two of us to get that rascal back together) the power tilt and trim still won't work.

The engine is stuck in the down position. We cannot lift it manually. What is the best way to release the pressure to remove the old assembly? We didn't see any type of screws to back out near the ram. Do we just unscrew the cap to the reservoir?

Okay - found the recessed screws in the sides of the ram - now trying to figure out what size wrench to loosen them.

there is no manual release on your system. Just undo the two tubes from bottom of pump and remove pump. The tie wrap a plastic bag around the tubes. As you raise the system oil will shoot out of tubes and into plastic bag. block engine in place before doing any work on ram.
