I have a 75 HP Force outboard that is 6 (1997)years old and quits when idleing. When I pump up the fuel bulb, it seems to run OK for a while and then again quits when I have to pump up the fuel bulb again. This is getting to be more then just a pain. Help?

Check all fuel lines for air leaks.
Make sure your gas tank is vented.

If you haven't replaced the diaphram in the fuel pump since you got it, now is the time. It only takes 20 minutes to do.

A fuel pump rebuild kit is $10-15 depending on source.

Some on ubay right now for $12 plus shipping.

Or get one direct from Mercury at:

http://www.mercurypartsexpress.com/PartsExpress/ProductSelection/ServiceParts/sphome.asp?CID=

Parts from Mercury come with instructions and diagrams.

If this doesn't fix things, then check compression on all cylinders and do a thorough decarb.

On second thought, do the decarb now. And at least once a year from now on.
