force 9.9 does not start reliably

my force 9.9 starts fine first time, but cannot start thereafter unless i pull start it over 10 times. any ideas?

Do you hit the primer bulb on the front of the cowling each time you try to start it? Mine seems to like the extra shot unless it's good and warmed up.
