Does anybody know how the recoil engages the motor on a 1993 9.9?
This starter recoil is the type that is mounted on top of the flywheel.
On top of the flywheel there is a shaft approximately 2" high that fits into a hole inside the recoil housing. In that hole there is plastic sleeve with needle bearings inside.
The starter doesn't catch anymore and I don't see how this set up ever worked.
The Engineer at Mercury must have been a genius or on something when he designed this sucker.
I looked around for any parts that may have broken off and there isn't any.
Is there anyplace online that sells parts or diagrams for this motor?
Stumped
