Force 9.9 up to 15 HP?

I have heard that you can upgrade a Force 9.9 to a 15 HP model by changing the jets on the carb. Is this true? Is that all there is to making the change? I'm new to outboards and was looking for a 15 hp engine but found a new 1999 force 9.9 for sale. If it's a simple adjustment and parts swap out I might just go for the engine.<br /><br />I look forward to your input.<br /><br />Harry

You cant upgrade that easily.And a proper conversion is not usually considered cost effective and if not done right could create a frankenstien monster.<br /> Also I would think long and hard on the orphan<br /> Force.At best it should be considered an entry level motor not noted for reliability or sofistication.
