Well I thought she was ready for the lake! I was wrong, ran good in the barrel and on high idle (warm up lever only)

now in the lake after warming up I can not get past half throttle or she dies.
I'm suspect the carbs need to be checked/cleaned (the only thing I have not done)

(link&sync carbs/timing all done /145 psi on all 3)

if I was home I would not even ask, but I'm at camp with little tools/resources

question is i there any thing else I can check OR should I not even bother and jus bring the Carbs. home for inspection?

Over time Ethanol(if used) delaminates the inside of the old hoses.
OMC hoses had a plastic liner in the hose, the E weakened it and it would slip and cut off the fuel, sometimes
this line gets used on a Force.
The inline connectors would suck air and cause problems.

Check the fuel for water?

The squeezie can go bad too.

thank you Jerryjerry05, & foodfisher

I guess the easiest way is to bypass the fuel system (hose/tank connected to the bayliner) with a straight hose/bulb/tank
it will have to wait till next I'm back up (leaving the boat here) I'm inclined to go your route first instead of taking the carbs. off and home for autopsy

Had a similar problem recently with my 85 HP....ran fine until it got to 4000 rpm. Started surging and cutting out like it was starving for fuel. Had just replaced the fuel lines. Well for some reason I used 1/4 inch hose. Found in my manual that 5/16 was the minimum. So I replaced all hoses with 5/16 along with a new "squeezie". Also checked the fuel pump....the diaphragm didn't have any holes or tears but was stiff and not flat. Put a fuel pump kit in it. She runs like a scalded monkey now. Lol

Chrysler and Force used 1/4" hose for 50 years+
When you said:

One of those steps was probably the fix.

the PO said he had changed the diaphragm in the pump and go only get it up to 10mph shortly before he gave up & sold it to me.
(I actually found the old one in
the in the clove compartment of the boat) I will check it/replace

the squeeze can go bad, meaning the pump action? check-valve not staying open? sucking air?

It can stop the fuel from going through the ball.
It has a one way valve that can shut down and stop the flow.

Since your tinkering: do a compression test.
When it runs does it have any fuel coming from the front of the carbs?
Change all the hoses even the tiny ones, even the "good" ones.

On the fuel pump side is a long dog bone shaped cover.
Remove it and replace/clean the screens.
The screens are hard to find, look on e-bay or your local pipe shop.

-will bring the compression-gauge next time(last time checked 150psi on all) I know; yesterday is not today anymore
-when I choke it, there's fuel coming out the carbs.
-with "even the tiny ones" you mean the re-cerculation hoses? or the ones between the carbs.?

FYI...found all the parts to fix the dog bone on Ebay...screens, gaskets, reeds etc. Took your advice and changed the small hoses too. When I took the one off the dog bone fitting it was dry, so I reckon the screens are plugged up. Have noticed a small amount of fuel coming out the front of the carbs. Hopefully this will fix it.
