Hi, new to this forum and I have a question I hope can be answered. One month ago, my Force outboard refused to start on a return trip home with no hint there was a problem before hand. The engine turns over fine but there doesn't seem to be a spark. Since then it went to a repair place and the mechanic there informed me that it was a stator problem that needed to be replaced; approx. 600bux to do the job. When it was picked up (wanted a second opinion) the guy who picked it up for me was told the entire ignition system needed to be replaced and Force had issued a bulletin on this problem. Does anyone know where I can find information on this bulletin and if the information I received sounds correct? Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Force 90 stator/ignition problems

force @ merc. had this problem,if you look under the flywheel and the stator in inclosed in a black housing these are the one that gave them problems.if you are handy with tools you can do the job yourself, not that hard . you will need a impact gun, steering wheel puller, allen wrenches that it.try www.seilermarine.com stator is about $150.00
