I have no problems with forward movement. It only jumps out of reverse. This is mostly when it is under some pressure like taking it off the trailer or a faster than idle reverse. This problem seemed to have started after i moved the control box to get access to some of the wiring. I made sure it was put back into the same place(same screw holes). I have checked, all cables are free and clear. So my guess is that the problem is not related? Any ideas would be helpful. I look for several hours through the threads and didn't find any help. It would be very heplful if someone had the break down of the lower unit and wouldn't care to share it with me.
Thanks Brent
Force by Mercury 120 1999 or 2000 model.
Pushing a solid weld Sea-Ark Bass boat. 18'

Take the shift cable off the shift lever and shift by hand. If that fixes the problem, the cable is out of adjustment (reverse not fully engaging). If that doesn't take care of it, ya got more serious problems.

c/6

Hooty

Might be a good time to change the impeller and disconect the shift cable. To adj use the static test meaning without the engine running. Adj the linkage in and out untill the rev is rev the neu is neu and forward is forward. Use Loktight on the linkage so it cant change adj good luck.
