Force Engine - Water Pump?

I bought an outboard boat that needed a restore. I just finished putting in the stringers and the wood is down for the floor, just have to put the carpet and finish the interior. The outboard is a Force 90hp - that's all I know. Not sure the year (Don't think it came with the boat). I was told it needed a water pump, I'm assuming he meant impeller? He did start it up and showed it ran, but didn't let it go long obviously because there was no water going to it. Just trying to see if there are any ways to identify the year of the motor and confirming there are no water pumps, but rather an impeller?

Thanks!

Typically, the pump will last the lifetime of the engine and periodic changes of the impeller are all that are needed. As to the year, Force made a 90 for a number of years. look for an aluminum plate inside the cowl with a model and serial number. If it is a later Force with Mercury components, look for a decal on the transom clamps or near them. If it has what looks like a Mercury lower unit, it will be late 1990s and will use a Mercury designed water pump and impeller.

Typical outboard water pump has only a few parts; the impeller, the housing and the base plate and some gasket. Normally the housing and base plate should last forever, but you won't know until you get in there.

Depending on the model.
Under the power packs on the power head there is a foundry stamp with the year in the center of the stamp.
Under the cover on the mid section is another foundry stamp.
Pics of the lower unit and cover and head will help.

Fill out the profile, location?
You might be close to someone who can help?

Thanks for the reply guys. I couldn't find any plates having a serial number or date of manufacture, so I have these two photos, maybe one you guys can help identify. Thanks!
