force outboard gearcase swap

have 1991e thru 992c 90 hp model gear housing has multiple choice on parts diagram type a type b type c i have type c picked up 2 other force units one a lower gear case type a only and a 1989 85 hp is a 856x9c on the 92 diagram it is a type a my question would these gear cases interchange with the 1992 to the 1989 one unit was rebuilt would be ready to bolt on to my 90 hp was going to save units for spare parts and lower gear units if they would be interchangeable with each other thank you

If your LU is a 2 piece drivshaft and the other also are...... they will swap. If your is a one piece drivshaft only one piece drivshaft will swap.
In that time 1989-91 Force changes from one piece drivshaft to two piece and I think one of these typ were a single exhaust typ.
Watch out for different gear ratio it may slow down some mph.

thank you all units match with drive shafts and single exust and water pumps what would be the best way to check on gear ratio didnt no about that thanks

You check the gear ratio by turning the driveshaft one turn and check how many turns the prop. does.
I think the ratio was 2,2:1 and 1,93:1.
SO: 2,2 turns at driveshaft will result in 1 turn on prop (2,2:1) and 1,93 turn at driveshaft will result in 1 turn on prop (1,93:1).
