Can anyone tell me if the 1991 Force 120 Hp. I/O Powerhead is the same as a regular outboard powerhead ? Mine: I/O is the L-Drive model and is completely trashed and I want to replace it. Thanks, John

my Bayliner Capri is pwerd by a Force 120 Hp Inboard /Outboard L drive and the only powerheads I've found are for Force outboards , So are they the same powerhead on both?

The powerhead mounting pattern and just about everything else is the same. However: I have it from an old reputable Chrysler dealer and mechanic that the crankshaft is balanced differently in the L Drive powerhead.

Best I can say is buy an old, cheap, running powerhead (85-125) and try it.

Check the splines on the crankshaft where the drive shaft to the lower units connects. Some of the L-Drives used a drive shaft that has 13 splines. Most of the power heads for the regular outboards were 15 splines.
