There is a sticker on the LU of my '96 Force 120.. It says 14.. What does it mean?? Also, is there anything I should do with the engine when I bring it in for the day?? I slip it and just tilt the trim up and lock it down.. Anything I'm missing??? What shop manuals have been found to be best for the Force line?? Or should I get a book straight from Mercury on it?
Thanks!!

Re: Force Questions...

Welp! We have no idea where you are because we know nothing about you because you filled out nothing in your profile nor told us what water you run your boat in.
If you use it in salt water, IT MUST BE FLUSHED every time with clean fresh/salt free water for several minutes to come up to temperature to open the thermostat in addition to washing down the exterior of the engine with some soap and water. Spraying the power head with LPS-3 is a good idea if you use the boat in salt water(kinda greasey/waxy coating that seals the parts from corrosion) If the boat sits for a month or longer...run the fuel out of the engine with fuel line disconnected AT IDLE ONLY and use a constant additive of a fuel stabalizer to the fuel as also reqular dosages of an outboard fuel sytem cleaner. If you use it in fresh water only...jus' run the fuel out if it sits for a long time. If you run weekly and use most all of the fuel every time, the proccess for the fuel is unneccessary, but a good idea except for running out the gas. Check the lower unit oil about every 90 days if you use it regularly. Merc manuals are the best but others are ok too.....maybe a little cheaper
