Seems to be a lot of Force starter problems.
Just wondering are they lousy starters or do Forces start so poorly they wear them out???

Spike,

My Force motor starter works great! It did lock up one time, a little WD-40 solved it.

Leeobiwan say:
"When in doubt, beat the hell out of it with hammer"

Re: Force starters

I'm not aware that Force starters are any more prone to problems than any others, but the Chrysler/Force starters seem to be the high torque variety (whine like your old Plymouth). They need a fully charged battery, with clean and tight connections.

Re: Force starters

My 92/10 hp starter went out once, I had the brushing replaced then it started the same old thing, turn the key, there was a delay and it didn't crank fast, seems really slow so after 2 tow-ins that was it, I spent 160.00 dollars and got a brand new after market start from US Marine, starts like it was brand new, you really can't be cheap with this, last thing you want is to be left out in the water,
