Force stills smokes !

Hello to all! Back again . Replace my fuel pumps and she still smokes . I did a second compression test and had 150 psi stright across . I rebuilt the engine with 30. over in all 5 cyl two years ago .Had all the boaring done by a boat machine shop . Is 150 a good compression with 30. over pistons ? I pull the intake covers and check the rings they snap back when pushed on but I notice some oil was getting past the compression rings on the bottoms of all the cyl .Is this normal or is it blow by ? The plugs are not fouling but does she smoke .Is their a way to just pull the head and check for ring clearance to cyl wall for out of round cyl? Thanks again for all your help ! Jim

If Cyl out of round was a problem the engine would have piled up already. Clearances are quite tight.<br /><br />As for the compression...its great.<br /><br />As for the smoke...Check for blocked exhaust or Jetting for your area. If main fuel jets are too large it will smoke like a bugger.<br /><br />TMD

If the plugs aren't fouling, I wouldn't think you're running it too terribly rich. Is your fuel mix exactly 50:1?

Hey Doctor ! Thanks for your reply . Could a leak in the exhaust manifold cause a bad smoke problem . I had notice a little water was leaking around it so I retighten the bolts . The water leak stop but could I still have an exhaust leak internal . I do notice oil that comes out of my prop when I run it in the driveway . Thanks for any input I can get !Jim

Hey Foul plugs ! Thanks for the input . I have try using an external 6galfuel tank with proper mix . I have replace carbs and check jets for size all is well there. I check recirculation system check valves . They seem to be working as far as I can tell ( used suction in one direction and check ok ) any input would be welcome thank again ! Jim
