Hello all, I own a 1990 90hp force outboard on a 1990 Bayliner Capri. My problem is that when I tilt the engine up after about a half hour the engine slowly falls down till it contacts the main trim piston. Ive checked my lines and there are no leaks, but after a couple of times of tilting the engine I've noticed some fluid leaking out of the top of the smaller tilt hydro (I am not shure the exact name for it) The system has two, one with the two lines going to it (leaking from the top), and I believe the other is the shock absorber. Do they still make seals for this, or can i actually replace them? If you guys need a serial # for the engine I can get it to you.

Thanks,
Ruben

Re: Force tilt and trim problem

The little cylinder with the stub shaft sticking out is the Trim cylinder. The big one is the Tilt cylinder. Even though the big one is big, it won't hold under thrust above fast idle. But that's of little importance here. You have a leak. Scale and paint like to eat the ram seals, so you probably just need to replace the leaking one.
