Force 50, 1988 model 507Y8D
Through the use of a DVA meter and diagnostics I determined a bad trigger was causing me to have no spark on one cylinder. Replaced the trigger and now have good spark both cylinders. The problem is it seems that when the throttle is moved forward into gear, revved up, then back to neutral the idle is at a much faster RPM than before. Here is a breakdown of the problem:
1. I start the motor. Starts fine idles good nice and slow.
2. I throttle it up into gear and rev it up a little.
3. I move the throttle back to neutral, the lower unit goes into neutral but the rpms are still as high as they were when I revved it up.
4. I push back on the trigger lever, I feel it "give" or click, then the rpms go back to normal idle.
I have set the throttle rod according to the Force manual specifications. The trigger we put in is a brand new CDI trigger. Almost seems like its catching on the stator or something in there?
