Force Trim & Tilt motor info

I have a 1988 Force 125 hp outboard...trim & tilt motor is not good..( two wire blue and green ) I also have two other used trim & tilt motors from Force outboards...both are three wire ( blue, green and black ) I assume that the black is ground..can I use either of these motors by connecting the black to ground and splice blue and green together ?..I'm not sure if the two wire connects to relays..like the three wire does..

BLUE=UP, <br />GREEN=DOWN<br /><br />And yes, the black goes to chassis ground.<br />But don't bypass the big circuit breaker to this motor, or if it ever over-currents on you, you are dead in the water, and maybee on fire at sea. (Just thot i best throw that caution in in case).<br />These were designed to be run thru UP and DOWN soleniods too. If you run them directly to a trim switch, it will cook the switch if luck is on your side,fire at sea if not (again just thot I'd advise, J.I.C.)<br />If the solenoids are not there, or you need to replace them, use standard Ford "Generic" starter solenoids...Mucho cheaper and carry far more current without blitzing.<br /><br />Good luck with her.
