just got this boat and motor a 1991 70 hp force, when i started it got no water at pee hole. changed waterpump, impeller, and snaked out the pee hole. still no water coming out of it. also tested thermostat it was good. pulled plug in head and water shoots out when engine is running. installed water pressure gauge and at idle it reads 5 psi at w.o.t. it reads 10/11 psi. is this a good water pressure or do i have more problems?
thanks

Take and blow compressed air into the tell tail. This should free it up...sounds like it still might be plugged.

TMD

Re: force waterpump problems

I have a 70hp force. With new impeller, my pressures are 3-4 at idle, 9+/- at 3500rpm, 12+/- at wot. So I would say yours are about right.

Just use your readings as a baseline, and watch for any changes.

One year my engines telltale was plugged. I had to remove the hose to get some little chunks of debris out.

Telltale, water flow indicator, pee hole, pisser, etc.
