Re: force125 cylinder loss

Try decarbon the motor, may get rid of the carbon and free up rings to give you more compression.

Re: force125 cylinder loss

well tried the decarbonizing, Didnt work so I got a wild hair and pulled the head. Not Good I have 6 holes in the piston. There is a scar about .030 in the ctlinder wall. Any suggestions on the cheapest yet durable way out?

The cheapest way out would be to bore that cylinder and put a new oversizes piston in.

Re: force125 cylinder loss

I have a similiar problem. No gauge to tell but have very little or no compression
in the bottom cylinder. Pulled the head, piston looks OK, and cylinder fairly clean.
Should I re-ring it? If so, how much trouble is it to get piston out?? Thanks.

Re: force125 cylinder loss

Would agree that the cheapest way in teh short run is to do that one cylinder - especially if the others are at 165 - the topend of the spec for compression.

Before you go too far I would find out what caused the holes in teh piston first or you may be repeating the problem in a few weeks after getting back together. Holes being burned in a piston usually come from too lean a fuel/air mix.

Good Luck
Deerdog
