I HAVE A FORD 302 WITH A BAD EXHAUST LEAK. AM PLANNING TO FIX THIS ON MY OWN. IS THERE ANY TRICKS OR THINGS I SHOULD WORRY ABOUT? IT LOOKS PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD IN THE MANNUAL.

Re: FORD 302 MERCRUISER

Is it a gasket or a hole in the manifold under the bottom?<br />They have a habit of burning a hole near the spark plug boot, that requires a new manifold.

Pretty straight foreward....Port is easier than starboard, though.....I find it easier to put the riser/manifold together first.....I also have 2 pieces of wood cut to the length that will prop up the manifold to the correct height......JK

Something else that will help. Get yourself some long exhaust manifold studs (long bolts with cut off heads will work as good). Put a couple in the head on the motor and slip your gasket on and then slid your manifold on. The studs will hold all the weight until you get the real bolts in.
