Ford Aerostar fuel pump help

I replaced the brake master cylinder on my Sister in Laws 1988 Aerostar and during the process brake fluid leaked everywhere while I was bleeding the master cylinder.
Anyways after starting the van a few times I went to start it again and the thing wouldn't start. I figured out the fuel pump isn't working since I can't hear it come on when I turn the key over and I can get the van to momentarily start by spraying gas in the throttle body.
I thought maybe the brake fluid shorted something out but I can't find any fuses or relay switches for the pump because there just doesn't seem to be any unlike the later model Aerostars.
I haven't had much luck searching the net but I did come across some information about resetting the inertia switch so I will give that a try tomorrow.

Anybody have a clue on what may have happened and how to fix this darn thing. Tomorrow will be my third day working on this piece of ----.

Re: Ford Aerostar fuel pump help

If that was my Aerostar,it would mean the fuel pump decided to pack it in just as I was about to clean up the tools and put it back on the road. lol. Maybe your luck is better than mine, maybe not. You could eliminate that possibility by running a hot wire to the pump.

Yeah, the inertia switch is when you get an accident. This one is located behind the kick panel on the passenger side of vehicle.

I will be heading out shortly to spend my Saturday working on a turd instead of fishing.

This thing had a full tank. I know because I dropped it to change out the fuel pump.
New fuel pump fixed the problem.

I never did run across any type of fuses for the pump or an inertia switch.

So the problem really is that multiple things fall apart at the same time!
