I'm doing an engine swap in a old Ford skidloader for a guy. It had a 1.4 V4 that started knocking so we picked up a 2.8 V6 to swap in. It had the TFI ignition which would have been a pain to wire up so I picked up some duraspark components. I wired them up per the book (red wire from module to run on ignition swith and white to start on swith. When I hook the white wire up it cranks in the run position, when I take it off it cranks in the crank position but no spark. Any ideas?

Re: Ford duraspark wiring

The white wire has to go the other small terminal on the starter solinoid so that it feeds the ignition while cranking. Make sure you run the power to the coil with a balast resistor, just like a points type setup.
