Ford Techs? AC/Heater blower motor issues 03 F250 SD

I recently developed a LOUD hum and vibration in the blower motor on my 03 F250 Super Duty. It started a few day ago and first appeared only when fan was on high, but has quickly increased in volume and intensity (over only a couple of days). Are there any known issues here? Has any one tackled this problem before? I'm wondering if this is a DIY project or do I haul it to the dealer or repair shop?

I have seen heater fans vibrate so much that the entire dash shakes...... it always seems to be the same thing..... a nest or debris in the system.

Search the internt for a Ford Truck Forum. I'm sure someone has had this problem before by now.

In this day and age of plastic parts I wonder if you lost a few fan blades or maybe the fan came loose from the fan motor. In either case you will have to remove it to fix it. I don't know how hard that is on your truck. Sometimes it's easy and sometimes it can't be done.

The fan assembly is easy to remove from under the hood.You will probbly find something in the fan cage. The bushings in the fan motor could also be poor or dry.
I once found a mouse in one heater fan. That poor mouse must have made a few laps before being over come by the heater motor.
