forgot to mark the plug wires

can anyone tell me what order the plug wires go on my distributor. The motor is a 97 7.4l Thunderbolt. I pulled the wires off to put a new cap and rotor on and forgot to mark them. On the distributor its self, it has the firing order clockwise and counter clockwise, just want to make sure before I put them back on that there in the right place.

Clockwise 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
But, if someone has had the distributor out before and didn't put it back in in the proper spot where number one starts may be different than what is on the cap.
Bring up #1 TDC on conpression stroke, look at the rotor, it will be pointing at where #1 plug wire should be.

Don is correct, but he left out one detail- you need to go clockwise around the cap.
