I have been looking for a Donzi Z21 or Z25 from the 1987-1990 age. They are hard to find! My buddy has a 1990 27' Formula that we just love. Now I'm thinking of taking the Formula route in the 23-24 foot size about the 1990 age. Does anyone have any opinions here or any helpful links that I can use to learn more about model numbers and such for that age Formulas. I know lots about Donzi's and nothing about Formulas. Please help!

Re: Formula vs. Donzi

There's an 88' Donzi Z25 listed in the iboats classified section under performance boats.

Re: Formula vs. Donzi

Donzis are great boats no doubt about it. But, I wouldn't trade my Formula for a Donzi of the same class and age. My Formula is a 1979 Liberator that has been used strictly in salt and it is as solid as the day it was made! I am out in stuff that other boats can't even dream of handling. I have launched all 6,600 pounds of her right out of the water many times and never once had the slightest problem. Formulas are amszing boats... I'm told that they are coveted by tuna fishermen - they make some mods and turn them into tuna boats. I have had her up against a '80 Scarab with twin 454s and TRS outdrives and stayed right with it despite having twin 350s and pre-alphas on my formula.
