Found a 70hp head for my 65. Will this work?

i have located a 1975 70hp STINGER head.. will the block/bolt pattern be the same for my 1984 super 65 commercial?<br /><br />i know if it were a Small block chevy anything from the 60's to the mid-80's are bolt and go!

Yep, both those 49 cid blocks have the same head bolt pattern. However, the early head will not have the bosses to mount the coils like yours does.

This head should have a smaller combustion chamber, correct???
