90' force l-drive with 15 hours on rebuilt p.head.(20' bayliner) Was running good except, rpms about 5400 with top end about 39, last two times out I lost 3 mph and 400 rpm each time, now down to 34mph and 4800rpm, compression around 130. Noticed #1 spark plug was coated in black, while others were fairly clean. I know I have spark at the #1 plug wire, as it got ME when I touched it while running, also I got a shock touching thermometer housing (on top of head just about #1 plug) while the engine was running. While checking out of water I noticed small chunks of metal lodged in the prop hub. After taking off prop I was able to fish out some larger chunks of a cast metal alloy. Not sure where to look first. As this is also 1 exhaust port, could this have come from further up inside engine? Any chance it could be from inside the lower unit?<br />I'm hoping loss of power and metal pieces are unrelated.

OH BOY......I hate to break your heart, but I would have an expert examine the "chunks" before you run the engine again.....Your engine somewhere is "making metal" and this is not a good sign

I'll do that tomorrow. I also am noticing water and exhaust spurting out where the engine mounts to the transom.
