These were the things that were done to no avail.

1. Cleaned fuel tank.
2. New bulb
3. Rebuilt carbs
4. New plugs
5. Checked timing
6. Checked link and sync
7. Checked opto isolator
8. Checked just about everthing else.

Here was the fix.

Did the old trick of looking at the engine in the dark with coil cover off. One wire had a nice blue spark going to several diferent places and at different times. I changed the coils and plug wires.

Just to make sure it was fixed we ran it about as hard as you could run it and then brought it back to the slowest idle possible in and out if gear with absolutely no problem. Did not sputter or die once in a long hard day of fishing in and out of no wake zones. 10 miles out on the GOM.

Sure is nice to know when your are docking and launching and retrieving that the thing is not going to die on you.

Good to here you found the problem. I learned that trick from my grand father well over 35 years ago, when i had a miss fire on my 1960 Chevy 348 (First car).

Made a mistake by shot gunning it. Should of let the engine tell me what was wrong with it by trouble shooting it. But I;m just gald it is fixed!
