14' bowrider with 70hp Evinrude, full top and bow cover, trailer...

I think it's a 1983 or so. Pics look good. It's from a marina but they can't get at the boat yet. It's shrink wrapped and way in the back shoulder to shoulder with lots of other boats.

Says I have first shot at it. Nobody else has come looking yet. I've talked to him twice and I'm written down in the book.

I just hope it doesn't get sold out from under me.

It'll be about a week before they pull it out so I can see it. Trailers are frozen into the ground, etc.

Perfect for my needs.

Light enough for my van
Short enough to fit in my garage
Big enough...room for 4 plus dog
Good HP
full top!
Fair price

here's a quick little pic....

looks like a tri or cathedral hull could be a rough ride in a chop. but nice find.

Yup, tri-hull.

I boat on small lakes and rivers 99% of the time. I haven't even put my boat into Hamilton Harbour yet, but I only have a unreliable 35hp right now. I'll take this one in the harbour for sure, and may even try to sneak through into Lake Ontario on a really calm day....not far out though.

I want the tri-hull for stability when fishing with the kids.....

I really hope this is solid, and that it doesn't get sold before I get up there.

The problem is that this marina is 3+ hours from my house.

The other problem is that this is the only 14' bowrider I've ever seen.

Hey....do you think it would be ok to trailer with the full top up? The longest drive would be 4 hours....the shortest a half hour.

Looks like a great find !!!:D

Any chance you could give the guy a good faith refundable $$ to hold it until you decide to bid ? Shaky I know, but it might ensure you of first bid if you think you really, really want it. Good luck in any event.. :p

i agree with td too. don't tow it with the top up. it's not made to withstand highway speed winds. all ya will end up with is shreds. it's not the big a deal to tow w/o a cover anyways. i do it all the time. granted i have a hardtop. but i've got a canvas cover for the back that i'd like to tow with, but i know better. it'll just turn to shreads too. so i don't..

cute little boat for ya. you'll love the stability of the trihull. i grew up with my dad's 16' trihull. super stabil and fit the family needs perfect. it wasn't on a big lake either so the surf didn't get to big so pounding wasn't that big of issue... good luck..

Neat boat that could fit your needs.

I'd just mention that you do not have a sales agreement, definitely not written, and not
a verbal agreement either. And verbal agreements are fuzzy anyway, depending on the
circumstances.

As an example, I saw a desk in the classifieds a few weeks ago, and called about it.
The seller emailed me a picture, and I called and said I would buy it. I said I'd pick it up
the next weekend, and my wife stopped out and paid $100 as a down payment. She
knew the seller as an old acquaintance. The next day I had phone message from a
sobbing woman, the seller, saying that she and her husband got into a fight about the desk,
and her husband wants to keep it in the family. She had stuck an envelope with the down
payment in my door.

So, I decided to let it go, and forget about it. No written agreement was made, and the
seller lady was having emotional problems, as well as domestic problems.

I actually found another desk more suited for my needs, so no big loss.

Lesson learned, all the same, is that there ain't nothin' binding unless it's a written sales
agreement signed by both parties and stating all the prices and facts.

Good luck, and don't be in any rush. They might try to escalate the costs if you are too
excited about it.

Did I miss the price? That's usually something everyone asks for advice about...

Agree, this is the deal I have going on the Chris Craft I want to buy from a local broker.

- Owner and I agreed on the price CONTINGENT UPON a successful survey and sea trial in the Spring.

- I put down a 10% deposit. If all goes well I'm obligated to buy the boat at the agreed-upon price. If I back out for any other reason, the owner has the option of keeping part or all of the deposit.

- If the survey or sea trial turn up any problems, the owner and I can either negotiate the cost of repairs, renegotiate the price... or I can walk away and get my deposit back. That's my call.

There are a lot of ways of doing this, and the seller wants to sell. Strike a deal, but don't obligate yourself beyond the cost of a survey until you're sure everything is okay.
