I bought a bass tracker Monday and the seller told me the trolling motor just quit on day. Didn't try to hide it or anything.

So I get it home and last night decided to figure it out.

First thought is connections at the deep cycle battery. Well that was close. Found this. It had a 30 amp fuse across circuit breaker. circuit breaker was tripped. No idea why it was there. Took it off and reset the breaker.

Works now but of course have no idea why it happened. could have been anything and it does have a brand new machete prop on it.

What size trolling motor is it? A 30 amp breaker is only good for about a 30 amp motor.

It is a tracker 45lb thrust by motorguide. The install manual calls for a 50 amp manual reset circuit breaker.

Tracker installed it properly using a circuit breaker. Someone added the fuse using the breaker posts to connect it.

just a guess but the breaker tripped and not knowing how to reset it they put in a fuse holder and an undersized fuse.
