I have a topic started concerning a noise in my outdrive called (88 OMC Lower Unit clunk noise. Dog Slip?) After removing my outdrive, I posted my findings but no one has commented yet, I am begging you pros to help me out and go read my last post on my thread called (88 OMC Lower Unit clunk noise. Dog Slip? )
Yesterday, I was cleaning out the U Joint belows when I found a grease fitting nipple in the bottom of the bellows. It is an L shape or a 90 degree fitting. I found the U Joint it was missing from and reinstalled it, however when I tighten either of the fittings down, I can not get the head of my grease gun on the fitting, I had to loosen the fittings for clearance before I could grease my U Joints. I don't want them to fall out again after I put the drive back on, unless someone tells me different, I am going to loosen the fittings, grease the U Joints then tighten the fittings.
