four blade prop

What advantage does a four blade prop offer over a three or two blade prop?

A 3 blade gives good overall performance and good top speed.
A 4 blade improves hole shot,should grip the water better, The boat should stay on plane better at reduced throttle.
Boat may respond better at around the dock.Usually suggested to reduce pitch one inch to maintain rpm.May lose a little top speed.
The Merc Spitfire 4 blade is said to maintain speed and may not require a pitch reduction.

steelspike is correct. The Spitfire loses no top end and if you are already in the correct rpm range at WOT, stay with the same pitch.
