Four Winns battery wiring

I bought a Four Winns Funship with the VP 4.3 early this spring. I removed the battery until yesterday. Everything went fine until I found a small gauge black wire with a red stripe. I cant recall if it goes on the positive or negative post. I tried most of the electronics in the boat, and didn't find something not working. Anyone have a guess as to what this wire should be hooked to?

First simple check, check continuity to ground. If there's continuity, then it goes to the negative terminal. If not, then I'd keep looking for wiring diagrams, or wait until someone here chimes in that knows.

No continuity to ground. The only black with red wires listed on the factory wiring diagram are for speakers. I know it isn't that. I am leaning toward positive at this point.

mystery solved. It is the ground wire for the fuel level sender.
