Hey guys, I have a 1970s four wins fish/ski boat that I got for free a few months back. I put a new floor, transom, and carpet in it and now I am ready to paint! I am using this boat for fishing and mostly duck hunting. I was wondering what would be the best processes to paint it camo? Im more asking what should I do to prep it? what kind of paint do I use? I wand to get the priming and base coat right. The base coat will be a dark green. The camo pattern will be created with stencils I have ordered and spray paint due to the fact that it is not a big deal if I have to re paint the top coat every year. Any suggestions? Hope I didn't lose you in my rambling.

Re: Four winns Camo paint job

for painting a duck blind for a friend, we did a base of medium green, then using a few branches from various trees around the blind as stencils, sprayed the outline of them with varying colors. we used flat and semi-gloss paint.

since I dont have any pictures of it, here is something i quickly googled to give you an idea How to paint your rifle Camouflage | Doug's Message Boards

If you are mainly in saw grass or cat tails when duck hunting, I would use the saw grass or cat tails as the templates

I think I have the patern I want. I think I more need to know what kind of primer and base paint works best on fiberglass boats? And what is the best way to prep and apply the paint?
