Just bought this Four Winn’s 160 over the weekend and I’m looking to do some engine work to get this thing back in the water. First time boat owner with an automotive background in engine and suspension repair. I would appreciate some tips on maintence and repairs for this project. The boat was not winterized and sat uncovered, doesn’t look too bad and I hooked a jump pack up and I can hear the fuel pump prime and the blower start up. I don’t want to crank the endings over until I tear into it. Any tips and advise would be great and I will share as many pictures as I can as the repair goes on

If it sat uncovered it isnt going to be pretty. I have a 170 horizon I just finished. It was covered I had to take it out down to the hull to get all the rot. It is worth it tho they are beautiful boats when your done. I had a couple who had a new sea ray. Went crazy over mine because they just got rid of one like it for the sea ray. It was old and they couldn't fix it. But they preferred the old boat after having the new one.

Welcome. Pull the carpet up in the skii locker take the tank cover off. That will tell you if you got a full demo on your hand. I suspect you do.

Didn't feel any soft spots on the floor, i checked pretty good but didn't pull any flooring up but so far it seems pretty solid. I did check the oil and there is some milkyness. What do you think my first step should be

Mine was solid. I was jumping up and down in it. I thought it was fine. Some one on here made me look hard. I took the skii locker carpet up in the corner and the tank lid off. Look in my thread tons of rot in the stringers. Deck its self was wet but hard and solid. Fought me every step of the way coming out.

Pick a spot in the stringer and drill into it. Black or tooth paste looking wood is bad. Dry shavings is what you want.
