Frd/Rev selector

This weekend I had to remove a panel for wiring access, but when I replaced panel the forward and reverse selector handle was very stiff for reverse, but smooth for forward. Panels were not removed competely only enough screws were removed to get to wires behind panel. Any ideas as to what I may have changed to cause stiffness?

I have researched previous threads but not really found an answer to my problem.
Did I damaged something in the control handle when I removed panel for access? Previously had a very smooth control handle in forward and reverse to one where it is very hard to select reverse but still smooth in forward. I have a Tracker Pro190 2007 if that helps, all other info has been difficult to ascertain issue.
Any advice would be truely appreciated as I don't want to cause further damage by trial and error.
