Hi All

My XD-B Volvo Penta out drive is moving lose, turns left and right for 4-5 inches before steering moves. I was fine with that, but lately i thought i need to fix this as when i launch the boat it requires adjusting few times before the boat runs in a straight line! and when its a bit wavy, the boat can never go in straight line!

I had the mechanic checking it, and he said the Steering Arm need to be replaced, I did replace my leaking Actuator Ram recently.

the thin is that he confirms I need to remove the Engine, The Drive and the Transom to be able to change the part! Engine is 5.7 OSXI-GF ... the space behind the engine was good enough to be able to replace the Actuator Ram smoothly the other day!

So is the above ALLOT of removals a must?

Thanks

Firas

You might need to pull the motor but pretty sure the drive comes off and transom assy. partially dismantled.
The Gimbal ring needs to come off the transom assy.
Depending on the boat?? How much room you have will dictate if the motor needs to be pulled????
