Re: Free Oil

I've had 2 engines survive zero oil pressure because they were running synthetic oil. A 4.3 chevy in an S10 4WD with remote oil filter, lost all oil when a hose failed. Daughter called me from work saying the oil gauge went goofy. Filled it up, fixed the oil line, truck got sold to another daughter who beat the heck out of it in Mexico till the rest of the truck disintegrated.

The other one is a 3.9 in a Dakota 4WD that my boy just beat the heck out of till I took it away after he did a wild chithook in the yard, and I heard the transmission slip. I pulled dipsticks and found the tranny 2 qts low (pan had been knocked loose) and the engine 3 qts low. It ain't 'zactly cherry, but it's still hauling firewood regularly.

Both are/were running SuperTech full synthetic.

Re: Free Oil

I printed off the rebate form but I would like to find out more about 'bio' oil. The biggest question is it's compatability with 'petro' oil or other recognized synthetics.

Some early synthetics were not compatible with 'petro' oils.

I do like the sound of their 'bio' chain saw oil
