freezing damage

Just a reminder for those in freezing climates: This is what happens if you store a dual exhaust lower unit tilted up so water can enter through the prop.

This fellow paid me a pretty penny to replace this completely trashed unit. Someone did disassemble it before me and did a poor job, ruining any components that should have been good (like the water pump and seals)

Upon inspection there were no internal components that were salvagable.

Funny that you'd post this today. I live in a very cold climate (in the winter) and I was just thinking last night about asking you guys about proper storage, and so on, after the boating season is done. I have a very old Chrysler (1967), and it runs perfect. So, I'd like to take good care of it! Care to teach me, Frank? Thank you!
