Due to the density of salt water as compared to fresh water, what course of action if any is required going from one to the other?
thanks

Re: fresh VS salt water prop

Ayuh,... Prop wise,... Nothin'....

Even though the prop gets a Better bite, the hull also floats higher,+ is more efficient...

My barge pulls 42/43mph at 4800rpms here in the Sweetwater Seas,+ every couple of years, I drag it up to Maine to play in the Salt,...
It'll pull a consistent 51/52mph at 4800rpms there...

The density of saltwater is 1.025 g/ml compared to freshwater's 1.000 g/ml so you're looking at a 2.5% increase in drag at the prop although as Bond-o noted a lot of this is offset by the added bouyancy of the hull.

How your hull reacts to the change in density is a function of the hull design and the boat's displacement.
