Fresh water cooling full system - losing coolant

Hi

I have a problem with front mounted fresh water cooling on 5.7 V8 (Michigan Motorz / Volvo replacement engine).

No sign of water contamination in oil so hoping not a head issue or cracked block. Have taken heat exchanger off and had pressure tested, all good. Do not have an overheat problem but will top off header tank with 2 litres of coolant every time I use her.

Think I may be losing through manifold and or risers? When winterised I am thought coolant was being lost out around the transom hence my initial thought about the heat exchanger, no sign of coolant being lost in the boat.

Can anyone give me some advice on what to look for / test to establish cause, which side may be causing the issue if it is manifold and risers that are the problem? Any fixes?

Any help and guidance would be really appreciated.

You can run a pressure check of the cooling system fairly easily, since it is a closed system. You should drain the system first and just use air pressure . There are special heat exchanger caps to do pressure testing,

Thanks for the reply.

Trying to find out if I can hire equipment to test. Not come accross anything yet in the UK. Otherwise may need another addition to my maintenance kit!

Would you need to drain the block as well?

Narrowed down to either the gaskets and or the risers. Renewed gaskets and will hope for the best, only had 50 hours on the manifolds snd risers so keeping fingers crossed.
