I have a new Yamaha 115 2 stroke. Since I use it in salt water I religiously flush the engine with fresh water using the hose adapter on the port side of the engine. I have 3 questions; 1. Is this adequate or should I put on a Mouse Ears hose connector and run the engine? and 2. I once noticed that the the rubber o-ring fell out. If I did not notice that the ring fell out and reconnected the line. It would have undoubted leaked. Would be a problem when running the engine or is the back wash isolated from the normal waterpump driven cooling system? and 3. What would happen if the backwash hose connected disconnected or ruptured while running the engine?<br />Thanx

Re: fresh water flush

ralphie hose adapter on the port side of the engine is for flushing the salt from the system(do not run the engine)with this system.I still favor the mouse ears better for my yamaha 90hp
