I own a 1962 36' Chris Craft Constellation and I live in Midland, Michigan (Fresh Water) and I am moving to Corpus Christi, Texas (Salt Water) What do I have to change or do to get my boat ready for salt water? I don't want to spend a fortune, I just want it to be safe in the salt water.

Salt water preserves wood, so the hull's gonna love it. Just put zincs on. I used to have the 46' Connie. Good luck!

by "put zincs on" I believe he means to write that the anodes need to be replaced with zinc types, rather than aluminum or other.

also make sure your ground bonding is good. most salty's bolt a big @$$ zinc plate to the transom and groung eveything metal in the boat to it (shaft, motor ,quadrant, panel etc.) in addition to the big bullet zinc on the shaft and the button on the rudder. also take a magnet around and check your fastners, get rid of anything it sticks to.
