Took a flooding in the past week with all the rain we had.....The washer and dryer and on 3" concrete blocks and I had about 5-6" of water in the basement....We lost power before the flood so nothing was energized.Well after some serious cleaning and throwing out of alot of ruined stuff...I finally got to putting the washer and dryer back in place...The dryer appears to work fine.

The washer however doesnt appear to change settings on its own..IE.If I set it on wash, it will fill up with water and then stop,it wont go into aggitiate the load....If I turn the dial to spin, it will drain the water from the washer but will not spin at all....There is no smell of burnt rubber or anything so Im thinking some computer chip or something isnt telling the motor to spin...

Model # FWT647GHSO.

Washer is about 5 yrs old and havent had a lick of problems.

Any ideas on something a handyman can check, before I call in a tech....?

I have a FWT645 everything on that one is good old fashion motor driven cam switch for the cycles

I haven't been down there for a while BUT i recall a lot of solenoid's and connections that sound like they got dunked

update

I was just looking online at a service manual for a newer one that looks the same and there is a controller assy in the base that runs the motor :(

Re: Frigidaire front load washer......

Just an update.....After finding the electrical schematic and doing some testing (with the help of the internet) Ive boiled it down to that exact part Tommays.....

Sad part is the water line on teh circuit board is only about 1/4" onto the board......

Cheapest Ive found is $145 online.....I will make some phone calls tommorow morning to see if I can find one in town....

My laundry pile is getting big, and I really need to get this going...

Thanks for the help.
