One of my numerous brothers-in-laws is in Iraq. He has been there a few months now. I just wanted to share an email we got from him. This was sent to us on July 26th. He has a wife and four kids in Minnesota. He is in the reserves and was called up for a year.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Since coming to Kuwait and then South Central Iraq, the living conditions have been questionable until recent. We now have better access to email and phones and I should be able to hit email a few times per week. We also recently got a chow hall and air conditioning in our tents. We stay very busy with construction projects both on base and within the local towns and villages. It is a real good feeling to help out the local Iraqi people. The people we have encountered so far have been very greatful and excited about their future. They detest Sadaam and are very happy that the US has come to help save their country. Although I do not wish death to anyone, it was great news for all the troops and the general Iraqi public to hear of Sadaam's kids deaths. That should cause the daily attacks by the Sadaam loyalists to subside. I have managed to make some freinds in a local village and hope to keep in touch with them even after we leave. They are really wonderful people
and though they have practically nothing, they value family and freindship as much if not more than we do. I asked Sandra to start sending care packages to me so I can give them to these people. I am hoping to get back to their village in the weeks to come to work on some other projects like improving roads, getting water lines working, fixing irrigation, and renovating schools.

Other than missing all the family and friends that I love, and having the day to day perks of living in a free country, things are going well for me. As long as we stay busy, the days are actully going by very fast. It is also a great feeling to know that we are really appreciated and doing good things for the Iraqi people. I hope your summer is going well and I look forward to getting back so I can take a few weeks to visit everyone. There is no word on when that will be yet. Well thanks for the previous emails and hope to hear from you again.
