From Long to short shaft

Same enginge different problem!<br /><br />We have removed the extension part from ou 1964 V4 shaft and replace the long drive with an original short drive. All went well.....until we got the part of remounting the shortende shaft. It fits well until the last 1/2 inch. Will not go in any further. If you have changed everything that needs changing, the only scenario that comes to mind is that possibly you have the wrong "short" driveshaft.<br /><br />I'd suggest that you remove that short shaft and compare the length of it with your old long shaft.<br /><br />The difference must be an exact five inches (5").
